Why .338 for match work

The .338 sits in an odd and useful spot. It's heavy enough to shrug off wind the way a .22 never will, but it doesn't drink air like a .45, so a shot string stays consistent long enough that you can actually shoot a match with it.

The Competition Pro is the rifle built around that idea. Bintac rates it at sub-MOA at 100 yards, which is the whole point of it, and everything on the gun is there to hold a group rather than to hit harder. If you shoot paper or benchrest more than you hunt, this is the end of the catalog to look at.
